Indoor Soccer Season

The indoor league this year is being run by the DCCC according to Futsal League rules and is played in 2 20 minute halves with 5vs5 on the pitch.

The Abejas U-12 team consists of Paulita Ramirez, Scarlett Real, Anel Diaz, Jailene Rayo, Norma Olivares, Jackie Solis, Marissa Ontiberos, Vanessa Ybarra, Cynthia Rodela, and Jessica Lopez.

We began our indoor season on December 9, 2007 vs. Santitos with an 8-3 win in our U-12 division. Our U-14 division began on the same day with a 5-4 win over Brazil.

This u-12 game at halftime was 3-3 and because Santitos was a physically smaller team the girls did not play at their full ability. Paulita Ramirez, Scarlett Real, Anel Diaz, Cynthia Rodela, Jessica Lopez, Jailene Rayo all played. Players missing were Norma Olivares, Jackie Solis, Marissa Ontiberos, and Vanessa Ybarra.

Some of the parents were concerned that the girls were not playing up to their potential so we made half-time adjustments and came out the second half in control of the game and won 8-3. This U-12 team is a very talented team and should fare well throughout the season.

December 15, 2007 Abejas vs. Aztecs 6-9

This game we lost but I think we would have won had our team been complete. Players missing included Vanessa Ybarra, who is a key midfielder. Though the score was 9-6 the game was a lot closer than the score reflects. I look forward to facing this team again. Scarlett Real worked extremely hard this game and was the only goal scorer. Paulita Ramirez also played extremely well but needed to be more agressive in her shooting. I believe she should have taken more shots. Anel Diaz held her own at goalie and will improve at this position as the season goes on. Everybody contributed this game and we looked good even though we were lacking some key players.

December 29, 2007 Abejas vs. Las Pulgas 1-20

Half of our team didn't even show up for this game, we were missing several key players. Paulita Ramirez, Vanessa Ybarra, Jailene Rayo, were missing and Norma Olivares was late. We played as best as we could. Scarlett Real, Marissa Ontiberos, Jackie Solis, Anel Diaz, Cynthia Rodela were our starting five. Jessica Lopez and Scarlett Real were our two offensive players with little support resulting in our loss. Las Pulgas are the best team in this division to date. We will need to do some major work to compete with this team. Jessica Lopez played extremely hard in this game and is improving at a rapid pace. She should be a handful as the season progresses.

This is several of our U-8 players during a fall 2007 Champions League game.
