Our indoor season has also come to an end. Our final games were as follows:
Abejas vs Aztecas 2-11
Abejas vs Cochorritos 5-8
Abejas vs Chivas 4-5
Abejas vs Brazilians 3-1
We played the Brazilians twice at the end for the girls Championship which we won 4-1 which game the Abejas the first place trophy for U-14 girls along with individual medals. That Abejas victory got us into the playoffs where we played the Aztecas 3-8 and we ended up in 3rd place overall in the U-14 division. Congratulations to the girls for their accomplishments. We beat out Cochorritos (4th), Chivas (5th), Brazilians (6th). Congratulations to Andrea, our goalie, she did extremely well in the indoor season. In general all the girls played very well. Good luck to the girls headed to the middle school soccer team (you know who you are). I look forward to reuniting with this team somewhere around June for some tournaments and the outdoor season as we will be playing in the women's league. I feel confident we can compete since we had a few friendlies with various women's team and held our own quite well. We are waiting for our sponsors this year and will be getting some new equipment when the time comes.

Abejas U-12
The Abejas U-12 have finished out their indoor soccer season. Our last 4 games went like this: Abejas vs. Santitos 11-3
Abejas vs. Chivas a close one 5-6
Abejas vs. Pulgas 1-11
Abjeas vs. Moscas 8-11
We went to the playoffs where we lost in the first round to the Aztecas by a score of 3-8. The Abejas U-12 had a good season and we will continue to keep practicing for the Club Azzurri Mason Wendel Memorial Tournament in April along with our outdoor season with the Champions League. The girls seem to be fired up about going to the tournament in Hutchinson and are just waiting for game day. I seem to be losing a bit with this team and am considering an additional coach to help us refocus. Perhaps some time off may be in order. This concerns me because I see a repeat of my teams mentality from when we went to Topeka. We started out with a good focus but by the time we actually got to Topeka the focus was not there. As of today, March 29th, we are in contact with another team out of Garden City to have a friendly game. The U-12 division has a lot of talent and in my opinion we will be hard to beat, but we are potentially able to sabatage ourselves by lack of focus and intensity. We have some new players that have joined us that are good players and they are Marissa Ontiberos and Jackie Solis. I believe that they will bring new breath to us. Marissa is a steady worker and we are waiting for Jackie to return from having her tonsils out. In closing, I congratulate the Abejas U-12 on their indoor season and am excited to see what this team will do in the coming months. A special note goes out to Scarlett Real, she became team captain and is, along with Erica Ramos, the leading scorer for the Abejas. I believe Scarlett led in both divisions for goals scored.
